Stats

Happy New Year! There are all sorts of reflections going on all across the Internet, so I figured I'd do one as well. I recently bought Keynote for iOS, and used it to visualize some data on the views World of Tech has received since the dawn of August 2011. First up is views by country.

The US dominates views, claiming 80% of them. It's almost ordered by country population density, which makes sense.

Above is views by browser. Despite being superior, Chrome took second place behind Firefox. Then came Safari, IE, Chrome on iOS, and Opera. Combined, Chrome across platforms still couldn't stand up to Firefox. Oh well, new year, new people switching browsers?
Next image shows different websites that contained links to the blog that people clicked on. Not surprisingly, Google had by far the most redirects, the normal google.com taking 225, and all the different Googles around the world adding up to 294. iFans and Facebook were the only other notable sites.

So many people were coming from Google to the blog, so what were they searching for? Down the left side of the next image are the most popular search terms used to find World of Tech on Google.

My post about my Minecraft LEGOs got a lot of attention from both "minecraft lego" and "minecraft legos." (As well as "minecraft shades of gray," you dirty searchers.) The came iOS 6's new Apple Maps and nagivation, and then the whole iPad clock icon fiasco. The URL also got a couple searches, which is interesting.

There you have it, all the biggest visit stats of 2012 (and half of 2011)!
